摘要: Reliable measurements of air quality and emissions at large livestock buildings with inherently spatial and temporal variations pollutant concentrations are relatively difficult expensive. Appropriate methodologies for such measurements not readily apparent techniques strategies vary widely. Several important technical issues need to be addressed by an emission measurement plan. This article describes comprehensive field of indoor eight commercial swine finishing buildings. The objective the test was to evaluate effect a manure additive on concentration ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, odor. Continuous gases, ventilation rate, building static pressure, inside outside temperature humidity, wind speed direction were conducted four naturally–ventilated four mechanically–ventilated Air pumped continuously from each into air–sampling manifolds. One air stream drawn beneath floor assess pit headspace concentrations. Another from ventilation exhaust points gas rates. Gas analyzers switched between sampling manifolds 10– 15–min intervals. Ammonia measured chemiluminescence NOx analyzers after conversion nitric oxide. Hydrogen sulfide converted sulfur dioxide with pulsed–fluorescence, analyzers. Odor samples collected in bags evaluated using olfactometry. Gas and odor rates determined multiplying mean airflow rates. Ventilation estimated sensible heat carbon balances. Ventilation mechanically–ventilated monitoring wall fan operation directly measuring airflow some variable–speed fans full–size impeller anemometers. Labor equipment requirements, pitfalls, problems, solutions problems studies discussed. recommendations future this type developed based experience gained during this campaign.
