摘要: Low-cost and rapid detection of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) is important for the control water quality used protection downstream treatment processes. In this work, effect sub-toxic concentration VOCs on current output Escherichia coli in bioelectrochemical systems (BES) shown, light environmental sensing applications sewage networks. Extracellular electron transfer was promoted by addition a biocompatible redox mediator, 2-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone (HNQ). Among eight investigated, toluene most toxic coli, with limit 50 ± 2 mg L− 1 32 nA mg− 1. This work offers straightforward route enhance contaminants applications.
