摘要: Abstract The Headwater System (HS) is defined as the area between ridge line, and beginning of channel network. HS have high importance in hydrological, geomorphological, biological processes drainage basin. It crucial to map areas order define suitable land uses landscape related policies. identification network particularly difficult well its mapping at a scale. field costly time labor, being more operative use models mathematical thresholds identify that defines aim this work was contribute headwaters system with construction Geographic Information model, using beginning, 0.1 km2 area. This threshold compared validated 92 heads occurring Portugal. model created GIS allowing headwater system, be included plans green infrastructure delimitation. applied Portugal data from National Ecological Reserve (REN) Alentejo Region. concluded proposed useful tool systems precise criteria, bridging gaps existent policies REN policy. current evaluation cover showed percentage eucalyptus maritime pine, which are not best for these areas.
