摘要: Abstract An analysis of the vector plot responses lightly damped single degree-of-freedom systems with Coulomb damping has been made. The plots, as derived by using both an exact and approximate method (the harmonic balance) are compared it is shown that distortion normally circular locus due to damping. Although plots such distorted also frequency gradient criterion still applicable for location a natural even when frictional force levels approach excitation levels. To permit estimation modal these means which limits useful range can be specified suggested. criterion, based upon quadrature input power necessary excite mode vibration, found equivalent obtained from half point theory applied linear systems.
