摘要: Ulva zoospores preferentially settle on N-acylhomoserine lactone (AHL) producing marine bacterial biofilms. To investigate whether AHL signal molecules also affect the success and rate of zoospore germination in addition to attraction, epiphytic bacteria associated with mature linza were characterized isolates representative this community tested for ability produce AHLs. Two these AHL-producing isolates, Sulfitobacter spp. 376 Shewanella 79, transformed plasmids expressing Bacillus lactonase gene aiiA generate AHL-deficient variants. The growth U. linza was studied presence strains their counterparts. This revealed that AHLs produced by or products they regulate have a negative impact both early germling. Further experiments Escherichia coli biofilms recombinant synthases synthetic provide data demonstrate germinated grown absence significantly longer than those These results reveal an additional role AHLs per se interactive relationships between zoospores.
