摘要: Abstract The European Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD) aims at implementing a precautionary and holistic ecosystem-based approach for managing marine waters. mammals are included as functional group the assessment reporting under Descriptor 1-Biodiversity. Conservation of mobile megafauna such cetaceans requires transboundary cooperation, which MSFD promotes through regional instruments, Regional Sea Conventions other cooperation structures ACCOBAMS (Agreement on Cetaceans Black Sea, Mediterranean Contiguous Atlantic Area). A questionnaire survey an exploratory analysis implementation in Seas were conducted. revealed (i) saliency cetacean conservation, (ii) heterogeneity among countries that may hinder collaboration. can stimulate collaboration scientists involved monitoring foster initiatives would align with objectives.
