摘要: A mesophilic, syntrophic acetate-oxidizing bacterium, designated strain Sp3(T), was isolated from sludge a mesophilic methanogenic digestor operating at high ammonium concentration (6.4 g L(-1) NH(4)(+)-N). The showed ability in cocultivation with hydrogen-consuming methanogen. Comparative 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis confirmed that Sp3(T) belonged to the Firmicutes-Clostridia class. most closely related species Thermacetogenium phaeum (16S identity 92%). Strain used ethanol, betaine and lactate as carbon electron sources growth between 25 40 degrees C pH 6.0 8.0. Based on phylogenetic position physiological characteristics of this new syntrophic, bacterium is proposed genus Syntrophaceticus schinkii, (=JCM 16669(T)) type strain. An isolate (strain Esp=JCM 16670) (99%) Clostridium ultunense also retrieved digestor.
