摘要: We investigate four crucial properties for testing and evaluating a moment closure approximation of the FENE dumbbell model dilute polymer solutions: non-negative configuration distribution function, energy dissipation, accuracy computational expense. Through mathematical analysis, numerical experiments comparisons with FENE-P FENE-YDL, we prove that FENE-QE has approximates dissipation behavior original kinetic theory provides good accuracy. To improve efficiency this approximation, introduce piecewise linear technique greatly reduces cost. This extension FENE-QE, FENE-QE-PLA, is recommend simulating solutions.
