摘要: Objective: To investigate the target specific larvicidal potential of an edible herb Typhonium trilobatum (T. trilobatum) (L.) Schott against mosquito Culex quinquefasciatus (Cx. quinquefasciatus) Say. Methods: Different concentrations crude and methanol extract T. mature leaves were treated Cx. larvae. LC50 concentration on 3rd instar larvae was tested Chironomus circumdatus Diplonychus annulatum Preliminary phytochemical analysis performed in search plant’s secondary metabolites. Results:100%mortality 1st recorded at 0.4%concentration after 72 h exposure extract. At 0.5%concentration produced 100%, 89.99%and 79.99%mortality 2nd, 4th respectively. 50 ppm showed 73.67%mortality h. 400 responsible for 100%mortality 24 Application (of larva) non organisms like C. D. no significant mortality among them. Secondary metabolites terpenoids free glycoside bound anthraquinones found. Conclusions:This experimental study a pioneer attempt to establish as valuable resource effective larvicide.
