摘要: The two charge-density wave (CDW) transitions in NbSe 3 were investigated by scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) on an situ cleaved (b, c) plane. temperature dependence of first-order CDW satellite spots, obtained from the Fourier transform STM images, was measured between 5 and 140 K to extract surface critical temperatures (T s ). low-T transition occurs at T 2s = 70―75 K, more than 15 above bulk 2b 59 while exactly same number. A plausible mechanism for such unusually high enhancement is a softening transverse phonon modes involved formation. regime 2D fluctuations analyzed according Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless type transition, expected this incommensurate CDW, extracting order parameter correlation functions.
