摘要: Upon exposure to the vapours of oleoresin from 8 conifers, bark beetlesIps typographus andI. amitinus produced verbenol, a terpene alcohol, in predictable pattern. Apparently, this pattern changed relation varied enantiomeric composition α-pinene contained resin various coniferous species. For calibration, defined mixtures (+)-and (−)-α-pinene were used establish different levels beetle response production cis-and trans-verbenol. Methodical and ecological implications phenomenon are discussed.
