摘要: EARTH is a major new European research project starting in 2010 with 15 partners from 10 countries. Its main technical objective to achieve reduction of the overall energy consumption mobile broadband networks by 50%. In contrast previous efforts, regards both network aspects and individual radio components holistic point view. Considering that signal strength strongly decreases distance base station, small cells are more efficient than large cells. will develop corresponding deployment strategies as well management algorithms protocols on level. On component level, focuses station optimizations power amplifiers consume most system. A transceiver be developed adapts changing traffic load for an operation systems. With these results reduce costs carbon dioxide emissions thus enable sustainable increase data rates.
