摘要: This chapter examines the availability and effectiveness of environmental legislation in sub-Saharan Africa. It is observed that while governments region have moved rapidly putting together policies legislations to deal with crisis, practical action on ground continues lag behind. Some reasons for this include lack financial human resources appropriate legal frameworks. Further, it argued key adopted by countries do not only amplify discourses from rich countries, but also they many ways serve strategic interests nations. Environmental Africa are largely dictated developed nations, through various mechanisms including international conservation organisations, tend militate against livelihoods poor communities developing countries. The points potential pitfalls may arise due wholesale adoption these policies. concludes proposing sustainable solution current crisis lies beyond tinkering bureaucratic details criminalising poor. root problem at pattern production consumption.
