摘要: Summary Basta NO, James PW, Craft AW, McNally RJQ. Season of birth and diagnosis for childhood cancer in Northern England, 1968–2005. Paediatric Perinatal Epidemiology 2010; 24: 309–318. The aim this study was to investigate seasonal variation the incidence children aged 0–14 years. Details 2959 primary malignant cases (1659 males, 1300 females), diagnosed during period 1968–2005, were extracted from a specialist registry (the Region Young Persons' Malignant Disease Registry). Seasonal analysed with respect month diagnosis. The chi-squared heterogeneity test used non-uniform variation. Poisson regression analysis fit sinusoidal (harmonic) models data, using diagnosis, respectively, as covariates separate models. There significant based on acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) 1–6 years (P = 0.04; peak March). For 0- 14-year-old boys, there statistically non-lymphocytic September) astrocytoma (P = 0.03; October). Based girls all lymphomas (P = 0.048; March) Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) (P = 0.005; January), boys osteosarcoma (P = 0.049; This confirms previous findings around ALL (at ages) provides further evidence HL. results are consistent role environmental factors aetiology these diagnostic groups. Further studies needed examine putative candidate agents.
