摘要: Surface modification of membranes has become a key issue in membrane science and technology. The major aim surface is improving the performance with view to altering wide range characteristics surface, such as roughness, energy, charge, hydrophilicity, biocompatibility, functionality. Based on these characteristics, methods can be divided into two groups: (i) physical (polishing grinding, thermal treatment, solvent post-treatment, blending, coating) (ii) chemical (chemical procedures, plasma ultraviolet induced grafting, ozone high energy radiation, enzymatic treatment). Although each method its own advantages limitations, interesting results obtained for modified form improved properties. open door further development technology. Keywords: separation membrane; surface modification; physical method; chemical reaction; flat membrane; hollow fiber
