摘要: Abstract Natural convection in low aspect-ratio rectangular enclosures with combined horizontal temperature and concentration gradients is studied experimentally. An electrochemical system employed to impose the gradients. The solutal buoyancy force either opposes or augments thermal force. Due a large difference between diffusion rates flow possesses double-diffusive characteristics. Various complex patterns are observed different experimental conditions. distributions mass-transfer also studied. A instability under certain conditions reported.
