摘要: A rat bioassay was conducted to preclinically evaluate nutritional quality of two supplementary foods (SFs) developed based on corn and soy blends for feeding preschool children. The SFs prepared by extrusion cooking subsequently modified taste either sweet or salty provide 395 ± 2 kcal energy 20 g protein per 100 food. proximate constituents contents were within the ranges prescribed processed weaning could satisfactorily meet requirements Groups male weanling rats fed 4 weeks quality. body weight gain with significantly higher than those skimmed milk powder (SMP) diet as control. efficiency ratio net utilization results not different (p>0.05) from values control group. It is inferred that these nutritionally comparable SMP.
