摘要: Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an organ-specific autoimmune disease in which the insulin-producing beta cells pancreatic islets are selectively eliminated. T specific for beta-cell antigens mediators of this precise cellular destruction. However, antibodies to proteins also generated and may be used predicting at-risk populations. Over past two decades, numerous lipids have been implicated as autoantigens patients or non-obese diabetic (NOD) mice, a well-studied animal model T1D. Here, we present review these antigens, accompanied by their T-cell epitopes, where known, discussion our current understanding why particular self-proteins become disease-inciting antigens. Although dozen identified date, few confirmed recognized pathogenic early process. Further identification characterization initiating targeted should priority future studies.
