摘要: Abstract The solubilization of glucose and several related sugars in benzene solutions rigorously purified phosphatidylcholine has been studied; the equilibrium degree found to depend on size sugar molecule relative that lecithin micelle, number acidity its free hydroxyl groups. uptake increased as concentration decreased, achieving a 1:1 molar ratio at below critical micelle which small micelles aggregate into larger ones. Osmometric evidence indicated that, higher concentrations, was carried within micelle. Enthalpy entropy have evaluated, are consistent with mechanism involving hydrogen bonding via Cholesterol, when present cosolute, competed for sites thus lowered solubilization, but exhibited 5:1 preference over cholesterol hydroxyl.
