摘要: MicroRNAs (miRNAs, miRs) are small, non-coding RNA molecules that regulate gene expression posttranscriptionally. Although discovered only recently in the early 1990s, this relatively new group of has already been proven to play an essential role regulation many physiological and, most importantly, pathological processes such as cancer. A large number miRNAs found be involved pathogenesis various human malignancies, and demonstrated correlate with clinic outcome. In tumors brain, however, investigations on still its infancy, publications refer common primary brain tumor, glioma (mostly glioblastoma). But despite fact there is limited data available so far, these first results very promising implicate might open a perspective for diagnostics treatment disease. With review article, we aim provide short overview miRNA biogenesis, function general. Thereafter, clinical relevant about two malignant adults (glioblastomas) children (medulloblastomas) will summarized, their potential impact highlighted.
