摘要: Toxocariasis is present worldwide but people living in areas with sanitary deficiencies are considered at the highest risk of infection, particularly children. The aim this work was to know clinical and immunological aspects infantile toxocariasis a subtropical region Argentina. For purpose, 182 children both sexes, 0-16 years old eosinophilia higher than 10%, Resistencia City (Northeast Argentina) were studied. Clinical examination, personal epidemiological data recording, parasitological fecal examination dosage Toxocara canis IgG IgM levels by EIE performed; all positive sera confirmed Western Blot. Out children, 122 for T. canis-IgG (67.0%); 28.8% lack potable drinking water home, 58.8% sewerage facilities, 91.1% referred close contact dogs or cats, 30.0% had history geophagia 86.7% lived along streets without pavement. forms infection were: 77.8% asymptomatic, 6.7% ocular larva migrans 15.5% visceral migrans. In 22 serological follow up until 18 months after treatment showed 10 change levels, 11 it decreased remained high, one increased. There 19 high canis-IgM; 8 treatment, stable them became negative. child as re-infection case. Results highlight importance that health authorities should assign regions deficiencies, where usually not recognized relevant public problem.
