摘要: Diffuse low-grade gliomas (DLGG) are slow-growing brain tumors that in spite of an indolent behavior at onset show a continuous expansion over time and inevitably transform into malignant gliomas. Extensive tumor resections may be performed with preservation neurological function due to neuroplasticity is induced by the slow growth. However, DLGG prefer migrate along subcortical pathways, white matter plasticity considerably more limited than gray plasticity. Whether signs functional decompensating found as early disease presentation has not been systematically studied. Here, we examined 52 patients who presented radiological diagnosis. We significant correlation between impairment eloquent cortico-subcortical localization, but volume. These results suggest even small invading pathways lack compensatory mechanisms for reorganization already presentation.
