摘要: Background Acute kidney injury (AKI) induced by renal ischemia/reperfusion (IR) is associated with enhanced production of reactive oxygen species in tissues. D-005, a lipid extract obtained from Acrocomia crispa fruit, has previously shown antioxidant effects. The aim this work was to evaluate the effects D-005 on IR-induced AKI rats. Methods Rats were randomized into seven groups including negative control group (vehicle) without and six as follows: positive (vehicle); treatment at 25, 100, 200, or 400 mg/kg; dexamethasone 3 mg/kg. All treatments orally administered single doses 1 hour before induction. Biomarkers (serum creatinine, urea, uric acid concentrations), oxidative variables, histopathological changes evaluated blood Results protected against rats significantly decreasing biomarkers assessed reduced serum concentrations acid. In addition, all decreased tubular damage, fewer detached cells casts lumen. reversed oxidation disturbance markers malondialdehyde sulfhydryl plasma homogenates increasing catalase activity. Dexamethasone, reference substance, reducing biochemical histological variables damage similar manner. Conclusion Administration oral markedly AKI, possibly due its known
