摘要: Abstract Purpose: The aim of this study was to demonstrate the effects recent technical advances on safety and benefits pediatric laparoscopic splenectomy. Methods: A retrospective review conducted patients undergoing splenectomy from January 1998 2000. Technical utilized during period included harmonic scalpel, a specialized flexible hilar retractor, larger, wire-rimmed specimen bag, lateral patient positioning. Results: Laparoscopic performed successfully 18 aged 3 17 years (median, 9). indications were hereditary spherocytosis (n = 10), idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura 5), other 3). Eight had concomitant procedures including cholecystectomy 3), resection an accessory spleen 2). median operating time, procedures, 125 minutes (range, 70 235). Patients tolerated regular diet postoperative day 1 16 discharged home or before 2. None required blood product transfusion conversion open technique. There no complications, all returned usual activity by 2 weeks. Conclusion: With technological advances, approach has become easy perform, safe, should be considered procedure choice for J Pediatr Surg 35:1578-1581. Copyright © 2000 W.B. Saunders Company.
