Current Concepts in Minimal Access Surgery for Children

摘要: Since the introduction of minimal access surgery to general surgeons in 1980s, pediatric have been employing this innovative technology perform on children. Video and miniaturized instruments brought laboratory operating room; many cases several small incisions are only necessary complicated procedures that would otherwise require a large wound. Additional benefits may include reduced postoperative analgesic requirements, shortened length stay, faster resumption normal activities. Increased operative costs offset some these gains. The surgical community has embraced techniques for operations; others remain controversial.
