摘要: We conducted a study to determine the prevalence of central islands after refractive excimer laser surgery and factors associated with their occurrence. A VISX Twenty/Twenty was used perform 157 photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) 263 astigmatic (PARK) procedures. Corneal topography assessed in 156 patients three months postoperatively using topographic analysis system. Central were seen 67% patients; 26% had 3.0 diopters (D) or more height. Occurrence suction nozzle being fixed during procedure (P < .05). There no demonstrable effect on visual acuity outcome, nor there any relation amount attempted correction type (PARK PRK). curvature difference less than D frequently an absence islands, suggesting these may be “normal” postoperative variation. The position island formation suggests that plume removal corneal hydration important, as is epithelial healing.
