Farmers' adaptation choices to climate change: a case study of wheat growers in Western Iran

摘要: Climate change is expected to disproportionately affect farmers by further exacerbating the risks that they face. These have a huge negative impact on their livelihood. However, mounting evidence has revealed can effectively manage this adapting farming practices climate change. The objectives of study were evaluate farmers9 ongoing adaptation measures, and identify factors influence choice methods in wheat production Kermanshah district Western Iran. A sample 350 living region was selected through multi-stage stratified random sampling method. Principal component analysis three components play role decisions methods, namely, farm practices, financial management, government programs insurance. relative listed under each assessed using multiple linear regression analysis. Our showed these accounted for 50%, 25%, 40% responses analyzed, respectively. In sum, our findings yield recommendations agriculture extension risk communication strategies could promote behavior among Iranian farmers.
