摘要: Abstract : Langmuir circulation (LC) and wave breaking are turbulent processes driven by wind surface waves that critical in mixing of the ocean layer. The effects LC on upper turbulence poorly understood, partly because their mutual entanglement interactions with generated shear buoyancy. Utilizing measurements a numerical model, we undertake systematic comparison between observations simulations wave-influenced boundary Data sets obtained from Surface Waves Process Program, Coastal Mixing Optics Experiment, Coupled Boundary Layers Air-Sea Transfer experiment provide unique for wide range sea conditions. model is based novel large eddy simulation (LES) incorporates due to LC, buoyancy, shear, waves, while satisfying conservation momentum energy. Research objectives include quantitative estimates terms statistics This work an important step towards physics-based parameterizations turbulence, which needed improve models weather climate.
