摘要: It is argued that in their account of mood disturbances, psychiatrists have traditionally distinguished concepts depressive illness from distress on the grounds social adversity provides a completely adequate explanation for latter, but not former. We already shown our comparison psychiatric out-patient sample with community same area symptoms former were more likely to be multiple, severe and diagnostic significance (J.K. Wing et al. 1981a). In this paper we test hypothesis disorders are cases distress. predict association between such will stronger than out-patients difference accounted by differences clinical picture groups. general data confirm these predictions.
