摘要: The management of locally-advanced rectal cancer involves a combination chemotherapy, chemoradiation, and surgical resection to provide excellent local tumor control overall survival. However, aspects this multimodality approach are associated with significant morbidity long-term sequelae. In addition, there is growing evidence that patients clinical complete response chemotherapy chemoradiation treatments may be safely offered initial non-operative in rigorous surveillance program. Weighed against the sequelae resection, recognizing how best optimize strategies without compromising oncologic outcomes critical our understanding treatment disease.
