摘要: The growing interest in the Oryza genus comes from feasibility of studying genome evolution these closely related species, as well direct impact identifying desirable phenotypes that could be transferred to sativa, one world’s most important cereals. Among brachyantha is unique: it highly divergent, has smallest and only FF several traits useful improve sativa. However, our understanding basic biology O. conservation its diversity germplasm are still preliminary. In this chapter, we summarize current knowledge on brachyantha, especially recently published genomes (nuclear chloroplastidic), genetics, sequence comparisons with other species. information gathered here should guide efforts conserve explore diversity, a necessary step order achieve both applied science goals future.
