摘要: Escherichia coli heat-stable enterotoxins (ST) are classified into STa and STb according to their physicochemical biologic characteristics. induces diarrhea, activating the guanylate cyclase-cGMP system. ST-like can be produced by bacteria other than E. coli, including Klebsiella pneumoniae. A ST has previously been shown share some chemical immunologic characteristics with ST. Aiming define better nature of ST, we have screened 237 children diarrhea 179 controls for ST-producing Klebsiella, using SMA. We detected 26 strains from patients, two which were positive in SMA, 36 controls, all negative partial purification was performed an acetone precipitation followed ultrafiltration gel filtration techniques. toxin heat-stable, methanol-soluble, sensitive mercaptoethanol, active at acid pH values, but not greater 8. The time course SMA resembled that STa. caused reduced Na absorption net Cl secretion rabbit ileal mucosa mounted Ussing chambers. It found increase cGMP cAMP concentration.
