摘要: Purpose of review Recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP) is the most common benign neoplasm larynx in children. Over past several years some exciting new therapeutic options as well relevant research into disease process has emerged that may offer insight and methods managing this frustrating disease. Recent findings investigations have resulted following findings: more accurate prevalence estimates human papilloma virus women United States; correlation socioeconomic status severity; malignant potential head neck cancer; role host immune system RRP; efficacy a vaccine preventing virus; emergence pulsed dye laser potassium-titanyl-phosphate therapy for cidofovir an adjunctive cyclooxygenase-2 molecular biology RRP. Summary The management RRP ever evolving. Despite therapies discussed study, it still with high morbidity. As focus shifts from treatment to prevention, will take many determine whether prevention strategies are effective limiting spread In mean time, further needed gain better control process.
