摘要: Cutaneous habronemiasis in 15 horses and 5 donkeys is described. The lesions were distributed many parts of the body involving medial canthus, shoulder pectoral regions, knee fetlock joints, abdominal wall prepuce. Some animals had more than one lesion. ulcerative filled with soft light red granulation tissue. When curretted, deeper layers revealed a dense fibrous tissue calcified foci. Close examination showed that superficial layer this contained small caseated necrotic same features prevailed muscular areas, but consisted granuloma no evidence cicatrization. Curretted material digested potassium hydroxide fragments larvae nematode suggestive Draschia or Habronema. histopathological changes severe comprised: foci stroma infiltrated eosinophils, macrophages few giant cells. Sections surrounded by eosinophils encountered areas. Curretting excision lesion effective produced complete healing wound scar formation.
