摘要: The egg output of Trichuris muris was found to reflect the stage maturity and age worms present. During 2nd week patency daily per female worm ranged from 4,000 5,000. Maximum occurred between 3rd 5th weeks patency, with a calculated range 7,500 7,900 eggs day. Late in 10, count decreased 2,100 2,400 eggs. ratio male increased as infection progressed. In early mean 1.00:1.42; terminally it 1.00 0.50 or less females. investigations bionomics studies were initiated on worms. production T. trichiura has been variously stated be 1,000 46,000 day (p. 342, Faust Russell, 1964). light present knowledge "self cure" "natural egression" at different stages preand postpatency (Campbell, 1963; Pike, Wakelin, 1967), might expected vary during course patency. This variance would depend upon changes ratio, length, duration infection. MATERIALS AND METHODS strain used kindly provided by Dr. 0. D. Standen Wellcome Laboratories, London (for origin culture see Keeling, 1961). Eggs collected feces infected mice modification zinc sulfate centrifugal-flotation technique et al. (1938, 1939). After flotation washed distilled water transferred 40-ml stender dish suspended 12 ml 0.5% formolphysiological saline solution depth 8 mm. covered and, without further aeration, left room temperature for 38 days, then stored refrigerator 4 C. Before animal inoculation cultures brought temperature; formol-saline replaced 2% tragacanth solution. Movement ovic larvae verified microscopically. placed magnetic stirrer assure homogeneity aliquot counting inoculation. volume adjusted Received publication 24 September 1968. * study supported part U.
