摘要: A few recent investigations have established that marine-derived fungi associated with sponges are an excellent source of novel bioactive metabolites potential to function as drugs or drug leads. Given the high species diversity and wide distribution sponges, it is reasonable expect they harbour ability produce diverse secondary metabolites. For a more complete realisation their technological potential, thorough knowledge different taxa essential. There hardly any information about interplay between sponge its other endosymbionts. Unravelling such interactions could be useful in recreating microcosm conditions vitro for harvesting fungal This essential since many genes metabolism inactive axenic cultures. eclectic review addresses these issues by focusing on isolation, identification, nature association, presents some future prospects regarding bioprospecting fungi.
