Potential role for microRNA-16 (miR-16) and microRNA-93 (miR-93) in diagnosis and prediction of disease progression in mycosis fungoides in Egyptian patients.

摘要: Mycosis Fungoides (MF) is the most common type of cutaneous T-cell lymphomas. Early stage patients are treated with topical therapies and have normal life expectancy whereas advanced disease encounter frequent relapses a five-year survival rate that does not exceed 15%. The aim present study was to characterize expression microRNA-16 (miR-16) microRNA-93 (miR-93) in early cases MF relation clinicopathological parameters. Ten skin biopsies were investigated for miR-16 miR-93 using RT-PCR. Immunohistochemical apoptosis markers (BCL-2 Survivin) also studied compared eczema biopsies. In study, BCL-2 Survivin showed strong positive on neoplastic lymphocytes all regardless their stage. We shown significantly upregulated (p-value less than 0.05). However, did show any statistically significant correlation age, gender, or apoptotic markers. On other hand, downregulation lymphoma irrespective stage, cases. Our results suggest upregulation could be used predict an aggressive course disease. serve as possible tool establishing diagnosis challenging findings provide consistent evidence anti-apoptotic molecules may play important role pathogenesis this lymphomas promote idea inhibition interesting novel therapeutic strategy treatment MF.
