摘要: Can less information be more helpful when it comes to making medical decisions? Contrary the common intuition that is always better, use of heuristics can help both physicians and patients make sound decisions. Heuristics are simple decision strategies ignore part available information, basing decisions on only a few relevant predictors. We discuss: (i) how doctors heuristics; (ii) outperform information-greedy methods, such as regressions in diagnosis. Furthermore, we outline those features them useful health care settings. These include their surprising accuracy, transparency, wide accessibility, well low costs little time required employ them. close by explaining one statistical reasons why accurate, pointing psychiatry area for future research care.
