摘要: Modeling the mechanisms that determine how humans and other agents choose among different behavioral cognitive processes-be they strategies, routines, actions, or operators-represents a paramount theoretical stumbling block across disciplines, ranging from decision sciences to economics, biology, machine learning. By using as case study, we provide an introduction what is also known strategy selection problem. First, explain why many researchers assume animals come equipped with repertoire of processes. Second, expose three descriptive, predictive, prescriptive challenges are common all disciplines which aim model choice these Third, give overview approaches selection. These include cost-benefit, ecological, learning, memory, unified, connectionist, sequential sampling, maximization approaches. We conclude by pointing opportunities for future research stressing problem far being resolved.
