摘要: Inspection of a surface (14) on circuit board (10) to detect for defects, such as misinserted leads (18--18) or missing mis-sized components (20'--20'), is accomplished by directing beams light (34--34) towards the along first angular direction. The intensity reflected second direction from each plurality successive thin strips (40--40) running across sensed linescan camera (36) which moves relative board. output signals produced camera, board, are processed obtain image data representative strips. Only predetermined regions (75--75) within strip where defects may occur retained. retained then analyzed determine if present.
