摘要: Object Deep brain stimulation (DBS) of the ventral intermediate nucleus thalamus (VIM) has proven to be efficacious in treatment essential tremor (ET). The authors report on long-term follow-up a series patients treated at 1 institution by neurosurgeon. Methods Thirty-four with ET received unilateral or bilateral VIM DBS. and handwriting components Fahn-Tolosa-Marin clinical rating scale were assessed pre- postoperatively. Visual analog scores for overall patient satisfaction control recorded. Stimulation parameters different intervals after surgery also Results average period was 56.9 months. score improved from 3.27 preoperatively 0.64 postoperatively (on stimulation; p < 0.001) 2.94 0.89 (p 0.001). visual 8.12 1.43.
