摘要: Background: Iron deficiency anemia is the most prevalent nutrient during pregnancy, yet there are few data on effect of prenatal iron supplementation in women developing countries. Objective: Our objective was to describe hematologic changes and those adding zinc supplements. Design: Pregnant were enrolled a randomized, double-masked study conducted at hospital shantytown Lima, Peru. Women supplemented daily from 10-24 wk gestation 4 postpartum with 60 mg Fe 250 μg folic acid or without 15 Zn. Hemoglobin ferritin concentrations measured 645 613 women, respectively, enrollment, 28-30 37-38 gestation, cord blood 545 neonates. Results: No differences status detected by supplement type, but related initial hemoglobin status. (hemoglobin 95 g/L showed increases serum end pregnancy. Despite supplementation, poorer status; who younger, single, multiparous; consumed fewer supplements more likely have Conclusions: These congruent effects reported placebo-controlled trials addition did not significantly affect them.
