摘要: Objective: To investigate when hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection from mother to child occurs, and evaluate possible associated factors. Design: Prospective cohort study. Patients: Fifty four HCV infected children tested within three days of birth their mothers. Main outcome measures: RNA polymerase chain reaction (PCR) results. Results: Seventeen the (31%, 95% confidence interval 19% 46%) were positive in first 3 life could be assumed have acquired utero. Testing PCR was not with sex (53% v 49% boys; p = 0.77) or mode delivery (29% elective caesarean section both groups; 0.98). Children evidence intrauterine significantly more likely lower weight genotype 1 (58% 12%, 0.01). Although a higher proportion infants born HCV/HIV co-infected women life, this difference did reach statistical significance; excluding affect Thirty seven (68%) negative 27 whom again at months, nine after months (one had no further tests). Conclusions: These results suggest that least one third up half postpartum transmission cannot excluded, these data it is rare. The role genotypes timing mechanism should explored further.
