摘要: Abstract The hydrodynamics of gas–liquid cocurrent down- and upflow packed beds was studied experimentally using twin-plane electrical capacitance tomography (ECT). ability ECT to measure liquid holdups examined by performing different calibration procedures. Confrontation holdup measurements from single-/twin-plane ECT, RTD bed drainage revealed that between pre-wetted flooded captured accurately the free-draining holdups. A new modality imaging tracer transients, referred as ECT/RTD, proposed whereby upstream injections detection permittivity-contrasting impulsions allowed access, via voxel-affixed cross-correlation analyses, interstitial velocity, volumetric flux maps well their degrees uniformity. Single-plane successful at monitoring dynamics showing its dependence with respect gas flow rates particle sizes, identify regime transitions unveil relationships pulse frequency velocity diameter fluid throughputs in downflow.
