摘要: This work investigated variations in fish guilds along marine surf zone to freshwater reaches of coastal plain streams and their relationships with environmental factors. Fish abiotic data were collected monthly during 1 year an automatic image-recording system was used monitor intrusion events. Aside ephemeral salinity gradients produced by storm surges, conditions prevailed inside streams. Despite that, habitat use spatially distributed according tolerance, species occurring mainly the stream site near adjacent non-salinity tolerant upstream site. Marine main factor correlated entrance marine-related into summer. In contrast, higher rainfall colder months prevented dominance species. highlighted that spatial segregation guild could occur even absence long-lasting gradients, since active colonization euryhaline sporadic intrusions can lead occurrence Future studies should evaluate if this role on would be affected changes sea level a global warming scenario.
