Experimental study of a highway bridge with shape memory alloy restrainers focusing on the mitigation of unseating and pounding

摘要: This paper presents an experimental study to investigate the performance of shape memory alloy (SMA) restrainers for mitigating pounding and unseating highway bridges when subjected seismic excitations. Mechanical property tests SMA wire used in are conducted first understand pseudo-elastic characteristics material. Then, a series shaking table carried out on bridge model. The structural responses model equipped with restrainers, installed form deck-deck deck-pile connections, analyzed compared uncontrolled structures. test results this indicate that not only effective preventing but also suppressing seismic-induced study.
