摘要: PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Diarrhoea is a common and worldwide problem, accounting for significant morbidity mortality, especially in children. This paper reviews recent advances the field of nutritional intervention prevention treatment diarrhoeal diseases. RECENT FINDINGS: In developing countries, incidence diseases remains unchanged, whereas industrialized areas decrease has been reported. acute diarrhoea, oral rehydration therapy first choice. Newer solutions with amylase-resistant starch or partially hydrolysed guar gum have tested found to be useful. Promising new data on supplementation zinc diarrhoea were published last year. The use prebiotics probiotics still controversial. However, meta-analyses are available, showing benefits as co-treatment rehydration. same apply antibiotic-associated syndromes. co-administration patients receiving antibiotics seems promising approach reducing diarrhoea. New evidence suggests that fibre reduces associated enteral tube feeding. Furthermore, probiotic mixture (VSL-3, viable lyophilized bacteria 4 strains Lactobacillus, 3 Bifidobacterium 1 strain Streptococcus thermophilus (VSL Pharmaceuticals, Inc,. Ft. Lauderdale, FL. USA)) was benefit bacterial overgrowth after pelvic radiation treatment.
