Prevalence and Correlation between Diet and Dysmenorrhea among High School and College Students in Saint Vincent and Grenadines

摘要: BACKGROUND: Dysmenorrhea occurs as one of the symptoms menstruation. While not necessarily a condition that plagues every woman, it is known to cause significant distress. Absenteeism from school and work well general discomfort are some its adverse effects. AIM: This study aims investigate effects certain diets on prevalence severity dysmenorrhea. METHODS: Questionnaires was given 478 women ranging ages 1-55. The survey centred around age menarche, presence incidence dysmenorrhea how related diets. RESULTS: Majority participants (81.74%) belonged groups 11-15 16-20. 45.5% attested at each menstrual cycle. statistical correlation between diet insignificant (p > 0.05). Consumption caffeinated beverages correlated with 0.05), reported in large proportion who consumed high quantities sugars. CONCLUSION: No relationship established amongst sample screened Saint Vincent Grenadines. However, appears sugars might benefit further research.
