摘要: Abstract Monodisperse poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile) (poly(St-co-AN)) microspheres are synthesized by precipitation polymerization in ethanol/water using redox initiator under mild conditions. The have a core-shell structure with the PSt-rich core and PAN-rich shell. formation process shows many differences typical polymerization. particles form short time of less than 15 min. increase concentration leads to monomer conversion microsphere size. increased water content mixed solvent controls surface morphology from smooth rambutan-like surface, due enhanced polarity hydrogen bond interactions solvent. Mechanism is analyzed detailed investigation on influences preparation parameters microspheres. It confirmed that there exists two phases, say droplets continuous phase, reaction system. initiation took place while growth occurred droplets. PAN segments can serve as stabilizer
