摘要: The bronchial epithelium has metabolic and immunological properties that involve the release of a range mediators interaction with other cell types within lung. It also acts as dynamic barrier, regulating penetration traffic number molecules between body environment. Many these functions seem to be altered during airway inflammation associated asthma. In asthma is often shed, extent denudated basement membrane significantly correlates hyperreactivity. Moreover, epithelial cells from patients are in an activated state. They inflammatory such arachidonic acid metabolites cytokines, express surface markers adhesion major histocompatibility complex antigens. functional activation seems correlated clinical severity Great attention recently been focused on effect drugs phenotypical alterations Several drugs, particularly corticosteroids, can promote repair desquamated areas bronchi decrease endothelin, interleukin-8 granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor. Taken together, this evidence indicates play pivotal role pathophysiology represent important target for future therapeutic approaches.
